Celebrate #IWD2020 with a panel discussion with Indigenous Women speakers Tanya Tagaq, Connie Walker, and Maggie Wente. The panel will be moderated by Tanya Talaga.

Event panelists include:
- Tanya Tagaq, an improvisational singer, avant-garde composer and bestselling author. A member of the Order of Canada, Polaris Music Prize and JUNO Award winner and recipient of multiple honourary doctorates, Tagaq is a highly original and internationally celebrated artist.
- Connie Walker, award-winning Cree journalist and writer/host of Missing & Murdered: Finding Cleo.
- Maggie Wente, partner at Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP and member of Serpent River First Nation.
The event will be moderated by:
- Tanya Talaga, Ojibwe journalist, author and truth-teller.

Event details:
Doors will open at 6 PM, and the event will start at 6:30 PM.
This event is co-hosted by Consent Comes First at, Office of Sexual Violence Support and Education, Ryerson University, Aboriginal Initiatives; Office of the Vice President, Equity & Community Inclusion, Ryerson, Ward 1323 Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam and LEAF.
Event proceeds will go to support the Native Women's Resource Centre of Toronto (NWRCT) and the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF).
Access Information:
Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema located near the accessible Bathurst Street subway station, accessible bus stops on Bathurst street and a large Green P parking lot on Lippincott Street. Our large, 36” wide doors have an automatic door opener.
The main floor has an accessible washroom with two grab bars and space for a wheelchair surrounding the toilet. The doorway measures 36” wide and includes a lever handle as well as a lowered hook behind the door to hang items.
The main floor of the auditorium has four designated wheelchair locations within the auditorium and is equipped with two transfer seats available for usage by patrons wishing to move from wheelchairs or other assistance devices.
