Storytelling with Drag Queens · World Read Aloud Day
Event Information
About this event
Join us as our favourite Drag Queens return once again to help us celebrate World Read Aloud Day as they read from some of their favourite Canadian children authors and reflect on why these authors inspire them.
Host: Candie Tanaka
Our guest readers:
Mx. Fortunate is a non-binary drag creature! Originally created in Vancouver, BC (unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil Waututh territories) they have now settled in Toronto, On (Tkaronto). They flirt between makeup worlds, ranging femme to clown to club kid to monster, ultimately inspired by the neo romantic movement. They love to have fun, make a mess, and give a show. Catch them doing songs by Dua Lipa to The Plain White T’s.
Homo Hardware - Some dads are boring and serious, but with Homo Hardware that couldn’t be father from the truth. Homo is your pun-loving, non-binary dad in drag. No matter what, they are proud of you and can’t wait to read some stories with all of you!
Cazwell van Dyke - Cazzwell van Dyke has been performing internationally with Queens, Kings, Things for over a dozen years all over North America and the UK. They will sing their heart out, dance, play instruments and usually do so without wearing any pants. They are a regular fixture as the stage daddy and Co-host of Coconutz and Bananaz the monthly Trans and Ally club night in Vancouver and at many of the other drag and burlesque events in town
