Event description

Description

Resilience and compassion are two of the greatest strengths Indigenous peoples hold. They have qualities that provide us the energy to continue to care not only for ourselves but for others as well. In caring for self and others we are truly strengthening our spirit and in turn we strengthen wellness in the workplace.

Indigenous peoples have been given the gift of being natural helpers – this session will focus on strengthening our spirit on the journey to wellbeing.

The workshop will discuss historic trauma, trauma and grief as areas that impact our ability to nurture our spirit, practice self-care and strengthen our wellbeing. Vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue will also be examined through looking at the impacts on the individual and our work.

This workshop will present ways that we can nurture our compassion and resilience, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, so we can continue to walk proudly on our journey to create healthy workplaces and healthy communities.

Facilitator: Rod Jeffries, Ancestral Visions, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory

* Each day starts at 9am and will finish by 4:30pm, lunch will be served.
