Description

This full day educational workshop was designed to provide healthcare professionals with an evidence-based resource for management of stroke survivors in the the long-term and complex continuing care settings. Various presenters from the West GTA Stroke Network region will be joining us to share their expertise and knowledge on treating persons with stroke.

The topics that will be covered in this workshop include: Basic neuro-anatomy, signs of stroke, resources available through the West GTA Stroke Network, general handling principles to promote mobility, positioning, transfers, meal assistance, communication, behavior changes/mood post stroke and much more.

The target audience for this workshop are PSWs, RPNs, RNs, Allied and other supportive staff working in long term care/complex continuing care in the Mississauga Halton and Central West Local Health Integrated Networks.
