Such a Fun Age - a Black History Month Book Club
Event Information
About this event
This February, in honour of Black History Month, the BWG Library will be holding a special book club – we will be reading and discussing Kiley Reid’s debut novel Such a Fun Age. The author describes the book as a “comedy of good intentions” and an examination of the “everyday domestic biases that we don’t even know we have”. Nominated for many awards, selected for numerous celebrity and media book clubs and landing on dozens of “best of” lists, Such a Fun Age is a funny, nuanced satire that reads differently to every person. It’s a story about race and privilege. Set around a young black babysitter, her well-intentioned employer, and a surprising connection that threatens to undo them both.
Pick up this engaging, fun book at the BWG Library, sign up on Eventbrite and then join us on Thursday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom to discuss it. We look forward to hearing your perspective on this “compulsively, readable story”.
*You will receive a Zoom link in your email prior to the event.*
