SUKI'S SALONS 1972 - 2022

Our founder and inspirational leader, Suki Takagi, was born in Japan and began her career working at Gene Shacove Salon. It was the most prestigious salon in Beverly Hills with clients like Elizabeth Taylor and many other movie stars.

In 1972, Suki moved to Vancouver and opened her first salon on South Granville. The existing staff immediately quit because they didn't want to work for a woman, let alone a Japanese woman. But Suki was unstoppable, her determination to succeed and her immaculate cutting skills eventually changed Vancouver's hair industry.

50 years later there are 5 salons across 3 cities with 150 employees, and a sought after Apprentice and Training Program.

Please join us in celebrating this monumental occasion with a glass of complimentary champagne, live music, and an interactive hair fashion show commemorating some of our favourite looks from the past 50 years!
