Description

Coding, Animation and Game Design [4-8]

Each day, the campers will be introduced to a different type of coding, animation and game design programs. Each day campers will be involved in different activities, and challenges. The goal is to expose the campers to different coding and design software. The focus of these programs is science, math, physics and computer science. These concepts are taught in an interactive and enjoyable way. Campers will have their logical skills challenged and they will have fun doing it!

Scratch Coding

Scratch is a beginner programming language created by campers at MIT. This is a good entry level programming language, as it uses an easy drag and drop coding system. This allows campers to quickly and easily create different types of games along with teaching them essential concepts such as problem-solving, math and how to work with others to complete a more significant project. It is fun, simple and an accessible way to introduce campers to the world of programming.

SPHERO

The Sphero is a robotic ball that can be controlled using your phone or tablet on Android or iOS. This course will teach the basics of managing a Sphero and handling a Sphero using the official Sphero app. By learning the basics and more advanced functions of a Sphero, campers will learn basic programming, math and physics in a fun and exciting way. Along with these campers learn vital problem-solving skills that can be used in everyday life, as they work through obstacles given to them.

Build Minecraft® worlds faster, Build more intricate 3D designs, Learn how to 3D print your creations. Starters define basic 3D design functions, and link to relevant Lessons to develop your skills

MineCraft

Minecraft is played by millions of people around the world and is recognized as one of the successful game due to its versatility. Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures. An excellent platform for building off of existing knowledge of basic building concepts. It includes essential building designs, math calculations, and budgeting resources and time during the projects, a few essential STEM concepts. These concepts are necessary for working in any group projects at school, and enhance abilities when playing Minecraft at home. Using "Redstone" campers can learn electrical engineering fundamentals through Minecraft program. The campers will learn about file structures and understand how the technical side of the game works. Campers will learn to do all of this through the familiar look of Minecraft, and the educational program that we have planned for the summer camp.

Stop Motion Videos

Learn how to create stop motion animation videos using an app on an Apple or Android Phone or Tablet and any materials of your own.

Using the Stop Motion Studio app, campers will learn how to create stories for their stop motion animation videos. Campers may use LEGOs, actions figures or any materials they may have at home. Multiple materials will be discussed including, but not limited to LEGOs, action figures, small whiteboards, paper and pencil and more.

Refund Policy:If refunds are requested two weeks before the start date, registration fee’s are refundable minus a $35 administration fee. If refunds are requested within two weeks of the start date 50% of the registrations fee will be refunded. Refunds will not be made if cancellation request is made within (3) full working days prior to camp commencement.

Schedule changing: If you would like to change or swap the week you have signed up for, this can be done at no cost, provided there are seats available.

Camp Themes: Each camp theme is different, so your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities. Many children sign up for multiple camps or even repeat the same camp and enjoy it! Please refer to the camp descriptions for full details on each camp.
