JAVASCRIPT

JavaScript is the programming language of the Internet, the secret sauce that makes the Web awesome, your favorite sites interactive, and online games fun!

JavaScript course teaches programming essentials through patient, step-by-step examples paired with funny illustrations. You'll start with the fundamentals, such as working with strings, exhibits, and circles, and after that proceed onward to further advanced subjects. JavaScript lets you play music and create amazing visual effects.

Along the way, you’ll write games such as Find the Buried Treasure, Hangman, and Snake. You’ll also learn how to:

  • Create functions to organize and reuse your code

  • Write and modify HTML to create dynamic web pages

  • Use the DOM and jQuery to make your web pages react to user input

  • Use the Canvas element to draw and animate graphics

  • Program real user-controlled games with collision detection and score keeping

With visual examples like bouncing balls, animated bees, and racing cars, you can really see what you’re programming. Make something cool with JavaScript today

Python

Python is a popular high-level programming language designed with a philosophy that emphasizes on ease of readability and syntax that allows programmers both beginner and experienced programmers to express programming concepts clearly and concisely. It’s an easy-to-use program for young campers to learn and concentrate on core programming skills such as problem decomposition and program design. Campers will be introduced to concepts such as computer communication, flow control, looping, design and documentation, and data manipulation, and use them to design projects with challenging levels of complexity.

Intro to Game Design

Ten project-based lessons that teach campers how to create games like Flappy Dino, Brick Breaker, and Basketball. Python 1 is recommended. Campers learn collision events, keyboard input, score-keeping, and much more.

In this project-based series of lessons campers learn how to use Codesters to create game in Python Coding. Topics includes Taking Turns, Moving Objects, Collisions, Random Numbers, Avoiding Hazards.
