Summer Drama Camp 2017 *Intensive Camp Ages 9-12
Tue, 8 Aug 2017, 9:00 AM – Fri, 18 Aug 2017, 4:00 PM EDT
Young Theatre Artists Intensive
9-Day | August 8 – 18, 2017
The first week of the program is focused on skill development with workshops in voice, movement, text analysis, writing, and improvisation.
The second week is focused on devising a play in a week as an ensemble and integrating skills developed in the first week of the camp.
This program for pre-teens provides more time for rehearsal and the integration of design elements. Young people involved in this program often continue into our Wednesday After-School Ensemble.
“Through your programs, my child has had the opportunity to practice not only theatre, but planning, rehearsing, and incorporating the ideas of others into a collaborative vision. These are not just arts-based skills, they are life skills. My child’s life is enriched by participating.” – Parent
“By far, Theatre Direct provides the greatest level of engagement I have ever seen. The unique thing about Theatre Direct's program is that there are no "stars" of the show. The equality among the children begets a wonderful and supportive environment.” - Parent
