About Fort Edmonton Park

Fort Edmonton Park is a national jewel that reflects thousands of years of our region’s history: a sacred river valley to Indigenous peoples, a commemorative site marking first contact with European newcomers, a centre of learning for regional and global visitors seeking to better understand the region’s culture, and a place of celebration where people and cultures meet to explore and connect. Fort Edmonton Park is about to take its place in the community as one of the world’s finest heritage cultural centres as it develops an Indigenous Peoples Centre, expands the Hotel Selkirk, enhances the current Midway and welcomes visitors with a fresh, new Front Entrance.

Rotary and Fort Edmonton

Edmonton Rotary Clubs have a long history with Fort Edmonton. The Rotary Club of Edmonton provided the initial leadership for developing the Park more than 50 years ago and those Rotary connections have continued since the Park’s opening. As we look ahead, Rotarians are renewing their support for Fort Edmonton Park as it executes its next phase of development. Our commitment is to expand the Hotel Selkirk so more regional, national and global visitors can stay on site and have a truly impactful experience. What’s more, the expansion of the Hotel Selkirk offers Fort Edmonton a renewed revenue source to ensure that the Park offers extraordinary experiences for the next 50 years.
