Description
We are hosting an ultrasound training “Bootcamp” for emergency doctors in Sudbury, Ontario on the weekend of June 16-17. We need real people for physicians to practice on. Each scanning session pays $50 in cash. The scanning sessions are typically scheduled for 2-3 hours. All participants are medical doctors. The ultrasound scan is like those done for pregnant women and involves no harmful radiation.
Do not be confused by the use of the term "model". We need real people to practice on. So, all shapes and sizes and ages. It is easier to scan thinner people and tougher to scan people who are more heavy set. This is why we are requesting that thinner people sign up for the first half of the day on the Saturday and that heavier set people sign up for the 2nd half of the day on Saturday as well as any time on Sunday. As the doctors skills improve over the course of the 2-day Bootcamp, they need to learn how to scan more challenging cases.
You will be scanned over the chest, back, and abdomen. The participants of the Bootcamp will be looking at the heart, lungs, and veins. Loose, comfortable clothing, such as a sports top and shorts are recommended. Towels will be provided.
PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE OF THESE 2-HOUR SESSIONS.
Thank you for your support in helping our doctors learn a valuable new skill that can save lives!
