Event description

About this Event

Due to capacity restrictions for gatherings in Ontario, we invite you to register for Sunday Mass. PLEASE REGISTER DAYS IN ADVANCE. REGISTRATION CLOSES WHEN FULL CAPACITY IS REACHED OR 24 HOURS BEFORE THE MASS TIME, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. Please be mindful of others and register only for the mass you plan to attend and only register members of your own household.Families from the same household may sit together, but each person in the household should be registered.

Please note that every reasonable precaution has been and will continue to be taken by the Archdiocese of Toronto to protect your health and safety. However, there can be no guarantees of complete protection as there will always be risks of contracting viral infection through large gatherings.

We recognize that some of the measures contained in these guidelines may feel strange or uncomfortable or contrary to our culture of hospitality and community. However, in these unique days of pandemic, following reasonable restrictions to contain the virus is a matter of faith, charity and justice. We are mindful of the sanctity of every life as we use these guiding principles in our planning:

  • I am my brother’s keeper. We are responsible for others. In justice, as well as charity, we must not recklessly endanger others, or cause their death.
  • Love your neighbour as yourself.

Additional information:

  • BY-LAW 135-2020 - MANDATORY MASK INDOORS. A mask or any face covering should be worn indoors if you are 3 years old and over. Face masks or any face covering should be large enough to completely and comfortably cover the nose, mouth and chin. This measure is being undertaken to care for our neighbour and to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
  • A face shield is not a substitute for a face mask. If you are wearing a face shield, you should wear a face mask with it.
  • If you are ill or do not feel well, please seek medical attention before attending Mass.
  • Cardinal Thomas Collins has given dispensation from Sunday Mass.
  • Livestreaming of Mass from Guardian Angels Church remains available during the pandemic.
  • Please do not enter the church if your temperature is at or above 37.5C, feel ill or have been in contact with a COVID-19 positive individual over the past two weeks.
  • If within 14 days of atttending a Mass, you learn that you or someone in your family who attended Mass with you has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been in contact with a COVID-19 positivie individual, you are asked to: (1) Self-Isolate, (2) Contact the Ontario Public Health Authority (3) Contact the parish office.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water before leaving for church.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the Mass
  • There will be a separate entrance and exit into the church. Please look for signs marking the proper entrance door.
  • Sanitize your hands upon entry.
  • Please maintain physical distancing at all times. Stay 2 metres (6 feet) away from others who are not within your household.
  • Please follow the directions provided by ushers/volunteers for seating, during Holy Communion and in exiting the church.
  • We request the congregation NOT TO SING during the Mass until further notice as singing provides a significant opportunity for the projection of particles from the mouth and requires a distance of 3 meters (10 feet) from others.
  • HOLY COMMUNION: During this time of pandemic and under the guidance of local medical health officials, the faithful is asked to receive Holy Communion in the hand by placing one hand on top of the other, allowing the Priest or the Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to safely place the sacred host on one's hand without contact. The traditional practice of the option of receiving on the tongue will be restored as soon as the public health situation allows for that.
  • OFFERTORY: We will NOT pass around offertory baskets. Please drop your weekly offerings including requests for Mass intentions in the provided drop boxes as you enter or exit the doors.
  • While it is our nature to congregate or socialize after Mass, we ask you NOT to do so at this time as we need to have the church empty before we could disinfect the pews.
  • Please help us maintain cleanliness in our church property. Please take home your used face masks and dispose of these properly.
