About this Event

How many of you are interested in vintage songs? songs we all grew up hearing, singing and serenading to? Songs that never fail to give us goosebumps. Songs that we have memories attached to. Songs we heard our parents and elders enjoying. Songs that bring smiles and tears and remind us of days gone by.

Sur Sangum is bringing you an event that would take you to this nostalgic trip. Ramneek Singh and Malhar Singh would take you through this memorable and unforgettable journey where you will hear the best songs of Lata Mangeshkar, Geeta Dutt, Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, Talat Mahmood, Shamshad Begum, Saigal and others composed by legendary music directors such as Madan Mohan, Shankar-Jaikishan, Naushad, Khayyam, OP Nayyar, Saleel Chowdhry, SD Burman, RD Burman and others.

ARTISTS:

RAMNEEK SINGH, introduced to Indian Classical Music at the tender age of 6, is an accomplished vocal artist with decades of strict vocal training. She has a Visharad (degree) from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, and prides herself in being a purist from the Indore Gharana, a distinctively meditative and serene style of Khayal presentation, as instituted by Ustad Amir Khan. Ramneek has given numerous performances in India and North America, and teaches advanced Vocal Hindustani Music.

MALHAR SINGH started learning Hindustani Classical music from his mother and guru, Smt. Ramneek Singh ji, at the tender age of 5. With an atmosphere embedded in music, at home, Malhar imbibed the delicate nuances of classical as well as semi classical music. Malhar in his melodious and soul stirring voice, is able to catch the most intricate classical compositions sung by Ustad Amir Khan the moment he hears them.
