Event description

Description

For the third annual Supervision Workshop, we are moving to a smaller group format and scenario based training. We will offer a 3 hour group with about 12 - 16 participants in each group. There will be 3 separate times to choose from: January 26th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, January 26th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, and Wednesday January 31st from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with each person selecting one time option. Additional times may be offered if there is sufficient interest. To participate in this supervision training, participants must have attended one or both of the previous supervision workshops offered by UVic Counselling Psychology or indicate they have taken comparable supervision training elsewhere. Contact Meg Kapil with any questions (megkapil@uvic.ca).

We plan to focus the content on the most challenging supervises to support and are interested in feedback on what you would most like to hear about. Some options include the following supervises:

  • The defensive supervisee (not open to feedback)
  • The avoidant supervisee (forget tapes, doesn't want to show you their work)
  • The chronically unprepared supervisee
  • The anxious supervisee
  • The over confident supervisee
  • The highly competent supervisee
  • Other ideas

Please complete the survey to offer us your feedback here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/K3BDL3Z

More details regarding the workshop content and process will emerge as we gather feedback from supervisors.

Contact Meg Kapil with any questions (megkapil@uvic.ca).
