Event description
This symposium features industry leaders talking about handling and security requirements for products such as cannabis and pharmaceuticals.

About this Event

Every year, as a kickoff to the Masters Certificate in Supply Chain and Logistics Management program, the Schulich Executive Education Centre presents a one-day public forum on leading supply chain practices.

This highly informative event for supply chain professionals is returning on Feb. 6, 2020, at the Executive Learning Centre in the Schulich School of Business at York University.

This year’s symposium will feature three industry leaders talking about the handling and security requirements for products such as cannabis and other controlled pharmaceuticals. Scheduled speakers include

Richard Cranwill, vice-president of Metro Canada Logistics in charge of cannabis third-party distribution, who will discuss the dynamic business practices and high-security measures necessary for this industry’s fast-growing distribution network.

Darrell Skelly, Director, Strategic Customer Development Pharmaceutical & Healthcare from Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s largest and advanced third-party logistics providers. Special quality requirements demanded by Health Canada and clients, and the extensive security measures required continue to be a focus for pharmaceutical distribution industry.

Neel Sharma, Co-Founder & Head, Product Management, SPICE Technology Group, Inc. a leading supply chain IT firm, who will speak about the importance of Product Data within the Modern Supply Chain.

“The presenters are always excited to come to Schulich to share their perspectives and learnings,” said Mark Thomas, director of SEEC’s Centre of Excellence in Supply Chain and Logistics Management. “The attendees are delighted with the insights they gain and the professional contacts they make, and I have great satisfaction bringing those two groups together. It’s a fun job!”

Past SEEC Supply Chain symposiums have featured topics such as the rise of Omnichannel Retailing, with guest speakers from well-known firms such as Purolator, Walmart and Home Depot. Previous years have featured other well-known companies such as Sleep Country Canada, Plexxus and GS1.

Admission to the event is included for participants in SEEC’s 2020 Masters Certificate in Supply Chain and Logistics Management program and comes with an additional complimentary guest pass for a colleague. Tickets for past program participants and interested members of the public are just $35 and include a complimentary guest pass for a colleague.
