Presented by the Autism House

Join our support group by and for parents with ASD children of all ages!

We cover two subjects every week, decided at the end of the last session by the group.

As we practice social distancing due to the pandemic, our need for social connection is more important than ever during these challenging months.

Support groups are a good place to share your experiences, learn from others, and connect with people who understand what you’re going through.

Facilitated by people who have experience, this support groups help you develop a healthy perspective on the development of your child, may he be young or an adults, as well as insight on their self-regulation, autonomy, sensory issues as well as daily challenges and accomplishments.

Our one hour support groups will be led by two parents with a 17 year old son with autism! Here is there welcome message:

''Hello. My name is Matt McCarney. I've been married to my wife, Felicia, for 22 years, and together we have a 17 year old son with Autism and a 14 year old neuro-typical daughter. I have been a high school teacher in Montreal for 22 years, and I have also been a member of the Board of Directors at Giant Steps school for the past six years. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and working together.

Hello, My name is Felicia LeBlanc, and I too have been a teacher in the Montreal region for 20 years and a school administrator for the past two years as well. As Matt said, we have two children, one of whom is on the Autism Spectrum. In addition to working with our own son, I have worked with numerous autistic individuals in many academic settings. I'm looking forward to meeting you. ''
