Event description

Description

At the September Open House, parents expressed a desire to learn how best to support their children's learning. Please join the FAH School Council for a series of mini-talks to explore ways to support French Immersion students at home. Topics include:

  1. Extending Learning at Home - Katie Young
  2. Parents as Partners - Jane Bibby
  3. Making Technology Work for You (and Your Child) - Alice Hartmans
  4. From Oral Language to Reading and Writing - How to Bridge the Gap - Pauline Marcotte, Speech Language Pathologist

During the the adult conversation, school-age children are invited to the movies. We will screen a child-friendly movie and provide popcorn and childcare. Children may come dressed in their pjamas and bring a favourite stuffie and/or blanket. To assist with planning, please indicate if your children will attend . Please note, school board policies limit babysitting to children over the age of 3, who are able to independently use the toilet. Board policies also require a babysitting registration form be completed - please arrive in time to complete the form, or fill it in at home and bring it on May 8. The form can be found here: https://www.ugdsb.ca/fahamilton/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2019/04/Babysitting-Registration-Form-fillable.pdf
