Supporting Student Success - a Conference for Parents & Professionals - Fri...
Fri, 19 May 2017, 9:00 AM
Join us for an exciting day of presentations and workshops on Supporting Student Success.
In the morning, keynote speaker, Hannah Sun-Reid, will be speaking on Harnessing the Power of Co-regulation to Build Resiliency in Children - This presentation will focus on making sense of self-regulation from a neurobiological perspective. We will discuss how the early attachment relationship plays a key role in its development, and how a lack of self-regulation ability presents in common childhood challenges such as Autism, Anxiety, ADHD and trauma. We will then look at how to identify each child’s needs and how we can use the power of co-regulation in relationships to develop children’s self-regulation capacity.
After this presentation we will break for lunch. Then in the afternoon you will have your chance to attend two of four break-out workshops (please note - you will NOT be able to change your breakout sessions onsite at the conference. If you are registering for more than 1 person (yourself) it will be assumed that you and your guest will attend the same breakouts. Therefore, it is encouaged that each person register themselves for the conference and pick their own breakouts - thanks for understanding).
