Description | Mental health concerns, including suicidality, have an increasing prevalence on Canadian campuses. In this workshop, Cliff Robinson introduces faculty and staff to ways to connect with and support students in mental health distress. Additionally, Pamela Fry provides context and an update on the Suicide Prevention Framework, currently in development for TRU.

Meet Your Presenters |

Cliff Robinson MEd - Cliff is a counselor in the Counseling department at TRU. He has been at TRU since 2005. Prior to his current gig, I worked for 10 years in community-based agencies delivering career counselling and vocational rehabilitation with people with disabilities. He has a BA (English) and MEd in counselling psychology from UBC.Along with general personal, career and academic support duties, He also acts as a liaison with residences. His style is heavily influenced by the solution-focused and narrative-therapy movements.

Pamela Fry| Pamela Fry is TRU alumni and has been a sessional faculty member and staff person at TRU since 2009. She is currently the Wellness Program Coordinator - Suicide Prevention at TRU. An aspiring ally, Pamela is an enthusiastic advocate of dismantling institutional and individual barriers to student success.
