Event Details

Join us for our first annual Surrey Cat Walk: Strut Your Stuff!

Dress up in your funkiest cat costume (if you like!) and attend the Surrey Community Cat Coalition's first annual fundraising walk on Sunday, June 24 at Surrey Bend Regional Park.

The walk is 5 km, with a 2 km option for those who would like to do a shorter walk. Registration begins at 12 pm, with the walk starting at 1 pm. There will be goodies, food, prizes (including best costume and most money raised), and vendors!

As a volunteer-run charity, we rely on the public to raise funds to help us promote the welfare of cats through rescue, spay/neuter, and public education.

Our goal for the Surrey Cat Walk is $5,000, which will go towards spaying and neutering cats in need.

How you can help:

  1. REGISTER on this page. At the walk, you will receive a light lunch and a swag bag with goodies and a prize draw ticket.

  2. START FUNDRAISING and collect donations
    - create a personalized CanadaHelps fundraising page online (if you need help, read How to Set Up a CanadaHelps Fundraising Page), and/or

    - download and use our
    paper Pledge Form

We have also put together some Fundraising Tips to get you started.

  3. WALK ON JUNE 24 AND CELEBRATE the difference you're making in the lives of cats and kittens in Surrey!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Can I bring my children? Do I have to register them or buy tickets for them?

Children are welcome to come and are encouraged to collect pledges! Kids under 12 years old are free, but regular ticket prices apply to kids aged 12 and over.

2. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the walk?

The park has free parking. Unfortunately, it is not easily accessible by public transit, so we recommend you carpool with friends. Download driving directions

3. What should I bring to the walk?

We have reserved a 75-seat sheltered picnic bench, but prepare for the weather - hat, sunscreen, water bottle, good walking shoes, and possibly (but hopefully not) rain gear.

4. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the walk?

No, we will have a list of people who registered online.

5. What time should I arrive to the walk?

Please arrive between 12 and 12:45 pm, so we can register you and take your pledges. We will also take a group photo. The walk starts at 1 pm.

6. How long will the walk take?

The walk is 5 km and will take an hour for the average person. The shorter walk is 2 km and will take 30 minutes.

7. Can I bring my dog/cat/friend?

Dogs are welcome on a leash, but it's best if cats stay at home. We encourage your friends to register for the walk.

8. What if I have more questions?
