Survivorman - Live & Intimate
"Survivorman" Les Stroud returns to the Original Princess Cinema on Wed. Oct 26th to showcase his musical wares. His inaugural Live on Stage concert at the Princess in 2013 sold out and expectations are running high for a repeat.
"Stroud's stage show is a combination of acoustic singer-songwriter, rock 'n' roll in a band setting and intimate question-and-answer period that pays homage to his claim to fame as the TV pioneer who created the survival genre. He happily conducts a meet-and-greet after the show.
"As one might anticipate from his experience as a wilderness adventurer and trained survival instructor, Stroud's music is inspired by nature.
"'The concert is really a celebration of wilderness and of connecting to nature.'" - Rob Reid, The Record
Les Stroud has won numerous regional music festivals, recorded four CDs (one with the Northern Pikes as his back up band) and is currently recording his fifth and sixth albums. His third CD is coupled with a feature documentary film entitled Barn Sessions. Regarded on an international level for his harmonica playing, his musical styling is eclectic ranging from art-folk-roots rock to contemporary art rock (his style = Peter Gabriel crossed with U2 with a dash of Dave Mathews and Ray Lamontagne). He has written all the theme songs for his TV series, and before the intensity of the television production schedule took over, was scoring for several independent films.
