Description

Do you want to help restore plant biodiversity in your community?

Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark in partnership with Hamilton Conservation Authority, CityLAB Hamilton, McMaster Outdoor Leadership Living Learning Community, Nature at McMaster, and the McMaster Academic Sustainability Programs Office are looking for students and community members to help remove invasive plant species and re-plant native wildflowers, trees, and shrubs in the creek floodplain.

When: Sunday, October 28, 2018

Time: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Location: Lot M - Invasive species removal and planting

NOTE: On the day of the event meet in the Mary Keyes Lobby on McMaster Campus

Bring: Water bottle, long pants and long sleeve shirts. Sturdy shoes/boots.

Details: Work with staff from Hamilton Conservation Authority and Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark to mechanically remove woody trees and shrubs with Extractigators, shovels, and handsaws. Help restore the floodplain by planting 100 native wildflowers trees and shrubs.

A free lunch and hot beverages will be provided after the event as well as door prizes! Feel free to invite family members, friends, and coworkers!
