                              Sunday September 25 to Tuesday September 27, 2016

Come and journey with others in pastoral ministry, spiritual directors and those in formation programs who desire spiritual companionship, rest, encouragement and a deeper, richer experience with God, in the context of a contemplative community. On this retreat we invite you to spend time with sacred companions (who are scattered across our land) that will enrich your soul, engage your mind, and refresh your spirit.

 Nestled in the rural setting of the Caledon Hills, participants will soak in the beauty, quiet and spaciousness to renew, relax and rest amongst 150 acres of pristine pastures and woodlands. This retreat begins at 5 PM Sunday and ends at 12 noon Tuesday and includes large and small group sharing, fellowship, prayer, teaching and worship. Throughout, are woven spacious and restful times of solitude and silence. Sustaining the Scattered retreat includes:

  •  A nurturing community of sacred companions who desire time to learn, grow and share together

  • Scripture, prayer, reflective and sustaining disciplines which keep us focused on biblical, contemplative and Trinitarian means of grace

  • Prayerful spaces for deep reflection

  • Times of solitude and silence for personal and spiritual reflection

                                  

                          Featured Facilitator:  Rev. Wendy Miller                                      

A noted teacher and practitioner of spiritual direction, Rev. Wendy Miller is the author of Learning to Listen: A Guide for Spiritual Friends, Invitation to Presence, and Jesus, Our Spiritual Director. She is Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Formation at Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Virginia where she taught for the past twenty years. In addition to her seminary degree, Wendy holds a post graduate degree in spiritual theology and spiritual direction from General Theological Seminary. She guides several training programs in spiritual direction around the U.S. and in Canada. A native of England, Wendy and her husband Ed are the parents of five children and delight in their eleven grandchildren.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring your a pair of inside shoes or slippers, Bible, pen and journal. All other materials are included with your retreat package.

Try not to bring, Cell phone, laptop, iPod, work, or anything else that will be a distraction or barrier to getting the most out of your retreat experience.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes.

 

What is the refund policy?

Please provide as much advance notice as possible so that we can offer your place to another retreatant.  If a request for cancellation is received fourteen (14) or more days prior to the start date of this retreat, a refund of the retreat cost minus a $50 administrative fee will be issued. If a cancellation request is received less than fourteen (14) days prior to the start retreat, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded. No refund will be given if a retreatant leaves early or arrives late.  Will there be opportunity to purchase books?

Yes. There will be a book store on site.  All of Wendy Miller's books will be available. Other relevant and applicable abooks will also be for sale.

 

Can I register with a cheque?

Yes. Let us know a cheque is your preferred payment by contacting the registrar directly at  fellowshipcsd@gmail.com.  Credit cards are accepted via Eventbrite on this site.
