Description
The symposium is organized by the University of Alberta Faculty of Education International Office and Centre for Global Citizenship Education and Research (CGCER). Its purpose is to bring together those involved in research, practice and policy related to international education and the education of immigrant and refugee students in Alberta. Panelists will include academics, K-12 educators and administrators, community organizers, policymakers working at various levels of government, and school board consultants.

10:30 – 12:00: Understanding the Particular Needs of International, Refugee and Newcomer Students
1:00 – 2:30: Internationalizing Curriculum and Pedagogy
3:00 – 4:30: We Are All Treaty People: The Importance of Place and Indigenous Knowledges & Experiences in International Education
4:45 - 6:00: Reception and poster session
