Symposium on The Importance of Indigenous Education in Ontario Classrooms

The symposium on “The Importance of Indigenous Education in Ontario Classrooms” engages different stakeholders in public education to discuss the integration of Indigenous content and methodologies into the current Ontario educational curriculum. The symposium will bring together the University of Toronto faculty and students with TRC experts (Senator Sinclair, Justice LaForme), the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation community, secondary school and adult education teachers, and scholars in Indigenous pedagogy and research. This symposium is hosted by the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation (MNCFN). The Band council of the MNCFN initiated this event in response to the Ontario Provincial Government’s cancelation of the writing sessions to develop Indigenous curriculum in Ontario schools.

There are no minimum age requirements for the event. All students are welcome.

What's the refund policy?

There is no refund for tickets that have been purchased, but you are welcome to give your ticket to someone else. The tickets are transferrable.
