What is Tai Chi?

Tai chi is low impact and safe for students of all ages, sizes and physical conditions.

Under the guidance of experienced instructor Hilary Smith, R.N., you'll progress safely through the learning of the systematic curriculum of tai chi. Paying attention to proper musculoskeletal alignment, you'll learn how to control your
balance as you move through a sequence of techniques that are often called "Chinese Health Exercises" or "Moving Meditation". You'll work at your own pace, within your individual capabilities. With practice, you'll start to feel at home.

How Can Tai Chi Help Me?

- Improve cardiovascular health

- Improve musculoskeletal fitness (including balance, strength and flexibility)

- Better mental focus

- Better mood

- Improve sleep patterns

- Higher immune function

- Improve cognitive function (memory, concentration)​

When is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi classes run in series here at Steel Fitness. The next series offered to beginners or new students runs March 5 - April 25, 2019.

Class times:

Tues 12:15pm - Advanced Weapons*

Tues 1:30pm - General Level / Beginner's Focus

Wed 7:00pm - General Level

Thurs 12:15pm - Advanced*

Thurs 1:30pm - General Level

*Teacher permission required.

What is the Cost?

You do not have to be a member of Steel Fitness to take Tai Chi classes.

Their are different packages available, but the average cost is less than $10 per session. Give us a call or see the Front Desk for packages.
