Dog Walk - 10:00am - 11:00am
Start Location: Energy Xchange at Thompson Parkette End Location: Oma Chiropractic, 1 Munroe Tour Riverside nature and shops, with pit stops for fitness tips, challenges and treats for 2- and 4-leggeds. EnergyXChange and Fit Dogs will lead the pack on this 1-hour adventure ending at Oma Chiropractic with some tension releasing treatments and wellness tips. Walk Leader: Fit Dogs- offers real exercise out on country trail runs and in our indoor pond on Broadview Ave. We’ve been tiring Toronto dogs since 1997.
Culinary Walk - 11:00am -3:00pm
Start Location: Olive and Olives, 779 Queen St East End Location: RPH 725, 725 Queen St. East A moveable feast in all things culinary, this walk highlights good eats on the east side. Chat with our chefs, shuckers, sommeliers, chocolatiers bakers and shortbread makers, who will invite you in and make you welcome! Walk Leader: Chef Scott Savoie, Culinary Adventure Company - where foodies get their adrenaline rush. Chef Scott has created a series of treks and trips that will change the way you think about food.
Dance Walk - 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Start Location: Quad Spin, 672 Queen St. East End Location: Mustard Seed, 791 Queen St. East An exercise in public dancing with a flash mob feel -boom box & spontaneous energy! Move through the Riverside in your own groovy way. No walking - just dancing! Walk Leader: DanceWalk TO, is dedicated to spreading positive vibes and joy around the streets of Toronto through Dance Walking and the love of dance in general.
Design Walk - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Start Location: macFABhome, 734 Queen St. East End Location: Quince Flowers, 660 Queen St. East Queen Street East is rich with array of boutique designer furniture, fabric, clothing, home accessories, and flowers. Get to know the tricks of the design trade, as well as a few treats along the way. Walk Leader: Covet Garden - an online design magazine that peeks into Toronto's most intriguing homes showcasing creative and un-styled spaces to give readers design ideas that are inspirational, not aspirational.
Inside & Out Back: Then and Now of Riverside - 2:00pm-4:00pm
Start Location: Queen & Saulter Public Library/ Ralph Thornton Centre, 765 Queen St. East End Location: Woodgreen, 650 Queen St. E This classic Riverside tour showcasing our extraordinary architecture, history and development - highlighting how Riverside functions as an urban space. Sponsored by Jane’s Walk. Walk Leaders: Shawn Micallef, author of Stroll: Psychogeographic Walking Tours of Toronto, senior editor and co-owner of the independent magazine Spacing. Micallef is the co-founder of [murmur], a location-based mobile phone documentary project, and writer for Patrick Cummins's photography book, Full Frontal T.O. Ron Fletcher, former Riverside BIA Chair, one of the original founders of the Riverdale Historical Society, Heritage Toronto and local history tour guide, Jane’s Walk walk leader, and ‘Over the Don’ author. Sponsored by: Jane’s Walk, a street-level celebration of Jane Jacobs’ life and ideas held annually around the world on the first weekend of May. It combines the simple act of walking with personal observations, urban history and local stories to knit people together and build resilient communities.
Art Walk - 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Start & End Location: Hangman Gallery 756 Queen St. East The street becomes a gallery on this walk. Famous for their June RAW event. The Artists’ Network will highlight Riverside’s fantastic array of art galleries and art supporters through this visual art stroll. Walk Leader: Russell Brohier - Executive Director of the Riverside’s Artists’ Network and Visual Sociologist -using photography as his medium. He is an instructor with the University of Toronto, and partner of galleryDK.
Kiddies' Costume Parade - OCTOBER 27 @ 2pm - 3pm
Parade costumes through participating Riverside businesses, where kids will receive all sorts of fun treats during the Kiddie Costume Parade (2pm)- Start Location: Nell and Natasha 807 Queen St. East End Location: Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre 870 Queen St. East

Saturday Oct 20, 4th Annual FREE - Take a Walk on the Riverside - WALKFest
Join us on Saturday October 20th, for Take a Walk on the Riverside - our 4th annual FREE WALKfest, featuring  six  different tours with expert  guides leading the walks.  New this year, we have added a Culinary Walk, Design Walk, Dog Walk and Dance Walk.  We are bringing back the Art Walk and giving our traditional historical walk a new twist with the Inside and Outback: the Then and Now of Riverside Walk. On each walk, you will be hosted by local businesses that will tantalize your senses and enlighten you at every stop.
