Description

This educational workshop is based on the Heart and Stroke Foundation's resource titled Taking Action for Optimal Community and Long Term Stroke Care (TACLS). TACLS was designed to provide healthcare professionals with an evidence-based resource for management of stroke survivors in the the long-term care setting. Various presenters from the West GTA Stroke Network region will be joining us to share their expertise and knowledge on treating stroke survivors. The topics that will be covered in this workshop include: Stroke 101, general handling principles to promote mobility, cognition/perception post stroke, communication, and behavioral changes/mood post stroke.

The target audience for this workshop are PSWs, RPNs, RNs working in long term care in the Mississauga Halton and Central West Local Health Integrated Network.
