Event description

Description

Join us for the Launch of Springboard's HUB Mindfulness initiative for Disengaged Youth.

Thanks to the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Springboard, in partnership with the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, has developed a technology-based mindfulness program for NEET youth, a category used to describe young people who are struggling to make meaningful connections with the world of education, employment and training.

Research has shown that mindfulness practice has the ability to regulate stress, improve self-esteem, increase concentration, and bolster the immune system. But how does mindfulness practice apply to an at-risk population? How can mindfulness be taught through a technology based platform like Springboard's? Is mindfulness just a tool for individuals to feel better or can it be used to create more inclusive and just societies?

Join us for an interactive launch of Springboard's Mindfulness prototype with an expert panel to address all these questions and more.

Our expert panel includes: Michael Apollo (RP), Leysa Cerswell Kielburger, and Tita Ang-angco (M.Ed.)
