CareMongering-TO, with support of the Black Medical Students Association at U of T & Doctors for Defunding Police present a new interactive series "Talk With a Doc," where we bring frontline community leaders & doctors from all over the city to share how COVID-19 is impacting their daily work and what they hope to see in the future for a healthier community. Join us in a discussion for a better future!
Our third guest is Dr. Laura Mae Lindo, an activist and educator who holds a PhD in Education. Dr. Laura Mae is the Official Opposition Critic for Anti-Racism and Citizenship and Immigration, as well as the Chair of the NDP Black Caucus. She is a powerful advocate for the rights of women and girls, a respected ally to marginalized community members, and, most importantly, a courageous public speaker on issues often left unaddressed in the mainstream.
The format of the evening will include a 20-30 minute introduction by Dr. Laura Mae. This will be followed by a 30-40 min Q & A session where members of the audience will have the chance to participate in a moderated discussion.
Please secure your RSVP as the Zoom meeting only has a capacity for 300 attendees. The Zoom meeting link will be e-mailed out prior to the event!
P.S. We will be posting recordings of the session on Twitter for anyone who isn't able to attend via @drsdefundpolice
Looking forward to seeing you all!
