Description

Being able to explain your research to a non-specialist audience is an essential skill for graduate students — whether you are talking with a grandparent or to somebody in a human resources department.

By attending this workshop, you will be able to:

  • confidently and concisely describe your research to a lay audience; and
  • employ a metaphor to describe the nature and impact of your research.

This two-hour session is designed for individuals who intend to participate in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition being hosted by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies on Thursday, March 19th, 2015.

After the session, participants will have access to one-on-one coaching and being videotaped doing their 3MT speech.
