The approval of new oil pipelines to bring Western Canadian oil to global markets has attracted worldwide controversy. At the center of the controversy is whether new pipelines lead to greater global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This talk will present the results of a new study that examines how oil pipeline infrastructure affects global GHG emissions.
