Tao-Ming Lau of Blue Crane Agency | Women in Music

Tao runs Blue Crane Agency, a music booking agency seeking to prioritize women, artists of color, and queer and trans musicians in North America and abroad. The roster currently includes DJ NDN (Co-Founder of Tribe Called Red), Zaki Ibrahim, Narcy, Kallitechnis, Too Attached feat Vivek Shraya, and more.

The agency has programmed festivals such as Pride Toronto and curated events for Nuit Blanche, Royal Ontario Museum, and Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Tao is a Polaris Music Prize board director (Canada's version of the UK Mercury Prize), sits on the Toronto Music Advisory Council (2019-2023), and was chosen as a Rising Star in Toronto Life Magazine's 50 Most Influential Torontonians of 2018.

Tao is a queer woman of color seeking to open more doors and establish better infrastructure for marginalized artists (@tao_owl). She will be discussing women in music.
