Description

Pianist Robert Dvorkin, whose teaching emphasizes the Taubman Approach, will be giving a masterclass at the Steinway Piano Gallery Ottawa on Saturday, 18 November 2017, from 630pm until 830pm.

Robert has studied and practiced the Taubman Approach for almost 20 years. The Taubman Approach helps pianists of any age or level to play with more freedom, efficiency, and accuracy, and is renowned not only for the facilitation of virtuoso playing but also for the eradication of repetitive-motion injuries. In this masterclass, Robert will give a brief overview of the Approach. Participants can bring in entire works of up to a single movement, or individual passages that are presenting obstacles. Robert will make recommendations that will help participants realize their musical and pianistic aims with less tension and more precision, allowing for greater musical expression. Pianists who are experiencing pain or injury are especially welcome.

Robert is a member of the Golandsky Institute, the world's leading exponent of the Taubman Approach. He makes his home in Ottawa. For more information please go to www.robertdvorkin.com
