About this event
"How is tea's story the same as yours?"
Tea Stories is part arts workshop, part discussion.
Where does tea come from? How has it changed along the way? How does tea's history intertwine with our many stories, to where we are today?
Led by poet and tea sommelier Zen Alladina, we'll explore tea's history, then dream beyond with guided prompts, to create and cultivate warm stories of our own—together.
All art forms and experience levels welcome!
Tea is filled with stories— and so are you.
What is the workshop format?
A typical workshop looks something like this:
- Step 1: GROW. We'll begin with gentle prompts for imagination.
- Step 2: HARVEST. We'll 'pluck' our favourite pieces to create a new blend.
- Step 3: STEEP. A discussion to add hot water to our 'tea.'
- Step 4: POUR. We'll return to our prompts, and let new inspiration guide our flow.
Will I have to share my work?
For those who want to share, there will be an option to stay back after the workshop, but it isn't built into the format—your process is your own. Enter this space with curiosity and comfort as we create in parallel, in our virtual tearoom.
