Event description

Description

As we age it can be difficult to have conversations on topics that affect our health, safety and well-being. Join the new "Tea & Talk for Seniors" series that will provide you the opportunity to start the Conversation!

In Session 8 join Mike Perry, Executive Director from The City of Kawartha Lake Family Health Team and Doreen Boville from Age Friendly Committee for Tea & Talk about:

Increasing Self Esteem:

Ageism can come in the form of language used, stereotypes, discrimination and abuse. By talking about it, raising awareness of ageism and taking appropriate action, we can begin to change society’s negative attitudes toward aging.

Need help with transportation? We may be able to help. Call Shauna MacEachern at 705-928-4465.

The Tea & Talk Toolkit was devised from the project Building Foundations in Healthy Relationships for Senior Women that was a collaboration with the Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre and Elder Abuse Ontario in 2013 and funded by the Canadian Women’s Foundation. The Tool Kit has been adapted provincially by Elder Abuse Ontario and being presented to seniors in Lindsay and area on the fourth Tuesday of each month during 2017. Watch for announcements about upcoming sessions.
