Event description

Description

Right-wing extremism, fascism, hatred, and xenophobia are on the rise in our communities. Compounding this violence, the Canadian government is increasing the number deportations of migrants, expanding the Safe Third Country Agreement, and building more immigration prisons coast to coast.

Who patrols our streets, picking up our community members?Who locks down the borders for anyone who isn't rich and/or white? The answer is the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA). The CBSA are Canada's ICE, and this is their job: to police, jail, terrorize, and deport migrants.

Join No One Is Illegal-Toronto on December 8th at 6pm for a community dinner and teach-in about the CBSA, the Canadian deportation regime, and the changing face of immigration detention.

We'll serve up some delicious food and talk about what migrant justice really looks like, build relationships and connections, and collectively think about what we can do to resist violent border policing and enforcement in our communities––wherever we see it.

Friend's House is wheelchair accessible and welcomes guide dogs. Please reach out if we can support any other accessibility requests! nooneisillegal@riseup.net.

Please note that we will not share anyone's personal information. You do not need to register to attend.
