Its no secret that teaching is a stressful job! A lot of educator training focuses on content and pedagogy overlooking the real social, emotional and cognitive demands of teaching itself. Practicing mindfulness can enhance a teacher’s overall sense of well-being and develop more positive ways of relating in the classroom. It can help us rein in knee jerk reactions that arise in our work and instead choose a calm and compassionate approach. Instructions and resources for beginning a mindfulness practice will be provided.
