Description

São Paulo (SP) is home to the largest and most mature startup ecosystem in South America. This Brazilian tech epicenter is also one of the 15 largest ecosystems in the world. Join us in SP from August 29 to September 1, 2018.

The following are the activities during the four day visit.

Wednesday, AUGUST 29

Morning:
Visit to WeWork Faria Lima - https://www.wework.com/
An international co-working space that is expanding rapidly throughout Brazil and Latin America.
This visit will include interaction with some of the Startups and businesses that are “housed” inside WeWorks' spaces in São Paulo, along with a brief presentation of how people can participate in, and benefit from the space available. There will be an opportunity for the foreign businesses and Startups to make a pitch during this visit, as well as networking with the WeWork community and invited guests.

Afternoon:

The National Association of Research and Development of Innovation Companies (ANPEI) serves the government and productive sectors, by giving emphasis in the importance of innovative technologies, company competitiveness and development of technology in Brazil. There will be a special presentation by ANPEI, and also an opportunity for networking with ANPEI members/associates and invited guests.

Welcoming Reception (to be confirmed)
Visit to Bradesco new startup hub space, and finish with an informal networking cocktail / drinks at the Bradesco rooftop (https://www.inovabra.com.br/en/habitat/).


Thursday, AUGUST 30

Morning:
Visit to Google Campus - https://www.campus.co/sao-paulo/en (To be confirmed)
A strong community of entrepreneurs and other partners use the space provided by the Google Campus in order to increase networking and collaboration opportunities within the ecosystem in São Paulo. This visit will include interaction with some of the Startups that are “housed” inside the Google Campus, along with a brief presentation of how people can participate in, and benefit from the space available.

Afternoon:
Visit to Invest São Paulo (Invest SP) - http://www.en.investe.sp.gov.br
An investment agency for the State of SP, with knowledge and contacts in several areas / sectors to help foreigners who are interested in doing business in the State of SP. Invest São Paulo has a specific area supporting technology, innovation and startups. Invest SP will present their work, and how they can help foreign companies and contacts do business in São Paulo. The visit to Invest São Paulo will also invite foreign businesses and Startups to pitch to Invest SP and others invited. There will also be an opportunity for networking with local contacts invited by Invest SP.

A match-making business networking event will be organized for the participants, connecting them with local potential partners throughout the São Paulo region.

- Institutional Presentation of Invest SP (30 mins)
- Startups Pitching (Brazilian and Foreign Startups) (1 hour)
- Business matchmaking (2 hours)
- Coffee and networking (30 mins)


Friday, AUGUST 31

Visit and Activities at CUBO - https://cubo.network/en
One of the largest entrepreneurship Hubs in the city.

Morning:
Workshop - "Doing Business in Brazil." This workshop includes invited lawyers, investors, accountants, experts in technology-based business, presenting general and important information about the ecosystem, challenges and opportunities of doing business in Brazil. This workshop is only for international participants.

Lunch (at CUBO)

Afternoon:
Panel discussion between some selected international participants and locals about opportunities to collaborate, and presentations about best practices and experiences by different companies/Startups in Brazil and abroad. The Canadian Consulate will have representatives participating as well, to promote the efforts and opportunities they can offer for both Brazilian and Canadian participants.

Saturday, SEPTEMBER 1

Morning:
Attend the SP Conecta event organized by Invest SP. There will be several key ecosystem players in the São Paulo region attending the event, who the participants will be able to network with.

Afternoon:
Participants are free to explore the city, or already fly out back to their home destinations again. If there are participants interested in going to Rio de Janeiro after the Ecosystem Tour, we can assist in providing suggestions of travel and sightseeing options in Rio de Janeiro.

The payment of this tour includes:
- Local transportation during the days of the ecosystem tour.
- Light lunch every day of the tour.
- Suggestion for accommodation and travel options.
