Description
We are pleased to invite you to join us in bringing together allies, organizations working on cyberviolence, youth and the technology industry to discuss working together towards preventing cyberviolence & facilitating the exchange of ideas and best practices on these issues. We are also excited to be announcing the launch our new website, www.techwithoutviolence.ca! Gender-based violence and harassment exist online and in social media – something known as cyberviolence or technology facilitated violence. The Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW) and the Youth Services Bureau’s Purple Sisters, with support from Status of Women Canada, reviewed key social media platforms to identify opportunities to helping to prevent cyberviolence from happening. It is our belief, that all forms of online gender based violence & harassment can be prevented eliminated by amplifying the expertise of young women & LGBTQ youth, and engaging the ICTC sector through collaboration, leadership, education & influencing. We hope to see you there! Please RSVP to this event!
