Ethel Cofie is the founder of Women in Tech Africa, an organization with a focus on entrepreneurship expansion and multiplying the numbers of females in technology especially in Africa. It is Africa’s largest women in tech group with members in over 30 Africa countries and in the diaspora. Women in Tech Africa is still growing, being the 2018 UN Equals in Tech Award Winner- Leadership Category.

Ethel Cofie is also an Africa Digital Expert, CEO and Founder of EDEL Technology Consulting, an IT Consulting Company in West Africa and Europe, and recently named IT Consulting Firm of the year by the Telecoms and IT Industry. She holds an Distributed System from Brighton University, UK and a BSc. in Computer Science, from Valley View University, Ghana.

Fatuma Muzungu, Advisor, Strategy & Innovation, FinDev Canada. Prior to joining FinDev Canada, Fatuma worked for 3 years in the U.K as an analyst at Nationwide Building Society – England’s largest Building Society. After which, she returned home to Uganda to work for Grow Movement, an NGO that provides business consulting services to SMEs, as a research consultant. In 2017, Fatuma spent time in South Africa working with local SMEs and NGOs, as part of her summer internship, as a strategy consultant.

Fatuma has an MSc. in Information Systems and Management from Warwick University, UK and completed her MBA from McGill University in 2018. With experience in both business and technology, Fatuma’s passion lies in developing approaches that leverage technology to increase the effectiveness and efficiency in business, with a special focus on the SMEs in Africa.

Andrée Simon is the President and Chief Executive Officer of FINCA Impact Finance (FIF), a global network of 19 microfinance banks and institutions. The network’s 8,000+ employees offer responsible and affordable loan and saving products to more than two million people across the world, empowering low-income women and men to take control of their financial future. Andrée was pivotal in redesigning the organization’s business model from a donor-based non-profit to a for-profit operating structure. She is now focused on accelerating the development of and access to digital financial services without losing the education and support that is necessary to build the financial health of the world’s poor.

Andrée has been named one of the Top 100 Fintech for SDG Influencers by LATTICE80 and has written extensively on responsible financial services in numerous publications including International Banker, Euromoney and The Financial Times. She is fluent in French and Spanish. She earned an undergraduate degree in international relations from the University of Virginia, an M.A. from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Roger Vandomme, Chief Data Scientist, Plendify Inc. Roger’s career has been built on the fundamentals of data analysis, predictive modeling and related decision-making. With 20 years in the credit bureau industry, creating credit scores all around the world, Roger has an outstanding unmatched skill-set in the field of predictive modeling. He has completed numerous studies and research on decision heuristics and biases, developing reasoning methods and processes around systemic design and game theory.

Roger created and manages a data science boutique, SMC, that helps companies and institutions to optimize their strategic decision-making process through the application of mathematical models, machine learning and artificial intelligence. He is also a founding partner of Plendify, a fintech and digital marketplace empowering businesses in Africa.

Roger teaches business analytics and Machine Learning at the University of Toronto, as well as operational planning at the Canadian Forces College. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Paris University, an MBA from Queen’s University, and a Master in Defense Studies with the Royal Military College.
