About the Conference

TEDxCrescentSchool is an all-day event featuring speakers inspired by the diverse meanings associated with the West African Akan word – Sankofa. The word Sankofa asks us to return to our past, seek understanding, and move forward into a successful future. Crescent is hosting a TEDx because we are interested in exploring new ways of living out our mission as a school. We believe that Crescent School, as a thinking and learning community, is challenged each day to bring powerful ideas worth sharing to our internal and external community in order to be a leader in boys’ education.

Each speaker will focus their talk around the idea of Sankofa; they will present their thoughts, ideas and examples of how we can use experiences from our past as lessons for a successful future.
