Description

Gaming with Python is an introductory textual programing course filled with adventurous learning. Python is one of the top programming languages worldwide. It's a favourite language at Google, YouTube, the BBC, and Spotify, and is the primary programming language for the Raspberry Pi.

Using Python as the platform, students will be introduced to computer science concepts. Students will be introduced to design thinking principles to effectively design end-to-end gaming projects. Working in teams and allowing for healthy competition, students will participate in contests to showcase their creations.

Details:

  • 12 week Program
  • Each session is 2 hour long
  • Hands on projects via:game building​ by learning:
  • Various data structures
  • reusable code modules via functions & modules
  • Loops and conditional statements, Arrays, and many other control parameters
  • Draw shapes and patterns with Python’s turtle module
  • Intro to Pygame
  • Build variety of gaming projects
  • Preparation for Hackathon
  • Qualify to Intern with us after completion of the program

Logistics:

  • This program will run on Sunday mornings in Bloor West Village (Swansea Town Hall)
  • Nearest Subway - 2 blocks from Runnymede Station
  • We are only accepting 12 students


Classes begin April 8th, 2018 - July 8th, 2018 - ( If you can take a make-up class take 15% off now)

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
