Event description

Description

New Brunswick is a very rural province with a population of just over 750,000 people. Access to specialist and guided care in Dementia is not closely or quickly accessible. The Alzheimer Society is active with many sub-branches however the smaller less visible dementia’s like Lewy Bodies are not acutely studied or recognized and treated with their specific needs. With a rate of almost 40% or more of dementias not being Alzheimer’s or a combination of several puts clients and families at risk and poorly understood. The general health care team has no awareness of known treatment or care strategies to improve or maintain the quality of life of these clients and families.

We believe that the knowledge and expertise that Teepa could bring to you living in New Brunswick communities far surpasses the small town of St Andrews. Teepa’s unique and visual approach to both understand and assisting people learn and apply the principles of dialogue and care for a dementia client will be the change needed to support our current demographics in NB: which statistically shows more than 50% of our population is over the age of 65 yrs. IN our Canadian Statistics we are leading the tidal wave in Canada for this baby boomer societal flip.

Come spend a day with Dandelions of Hope and Teepa Snow to learn and bond with likeminded people stiving for best practices to care for those who are the most vulnerable in our communities.

There will be no Refunds for this event but tickets are transferable. Lunch will be provided with multiple dietary needs
