Description
The 3rd Annual Vancouver Tweed Ride is a group bicycle ride through the centre of Vancouver on Sunday September 20, 2015, in which the cyclists dress in traditional British Cycling attire, particularly tweed. Any bicycle is acceptable on the Tweed Ride, but classic vintage bicycles are encouraged. Registration starts at 1aam and the ride will begin at The Vancouver Club, host sponsor for the event.
Our hope is to recreate the spirit of a bygone era, promote biking in urban areas and raise money and awareness for this year's charity: Power To Be.
Power To Be Adventure Therapy inspires youth and families in need of support to discover their limitless abilities through accessible and inclusive nature-based programs. Through its unique long-term program approach and two comprehensive programs; Adaptive Recreation, a positive response to the community need for inclusive, nature based recreation for people living with a disability, and the Wilderness School, a multi-year program for youth that fosters positive social development and life skills though outdoor adventure activities, Power To Be achieves lasting and healthy relationships with its participants and their families. Since inception in 1998, Power To Be has reached more than 8000 participants. For more info, please visit http://www.powertobe.ca
