Event description
Building our personal practices to support the processes of hosting (facilitating) across systems in order to shift the status quo.

About this Event

The Art of Hosting Meaningful Conversations & Participatory Leadership

The goal may be professional, the practice is personal.

Are you hungry for different ways of being in leadership together?

Within the context of current political and ideological polarization, we feel it is a key time to come together to deepen our personal practices to support the processes of hosting (facilitating), while broadening our skillset and ‘building the muscle’ of participatory practices for working in the messy middle, and finding collective ways forward.

By participating in the Art of Hosting you will have the opportunity to:

Deepen your practice of designing and holding space across systems for groups, organizations and communities to address complex topics in their work .

Learn and practice large group, full participation methods (World Cafe, Circle, Open Space, ProAction Cafe, Collective Story Harvest, among others)

Engage with tools to design and harvest powerful conversations and interventions

Discover and develop personal skills and practices to support your ability to host and lead and navigate complexity in challenging situations.

Explore complexity and dialogue practices (and why they matter)

Connect with other leaders and explore how you can work more powerfully together.

Who should attend?

  • People who are unsatisfied with the status quo
  • Community and non-profit leaders, social entrepreneurs, business leaders, department heads and program managers, community organizers, next-generation leaders and individuals who want to help.
  • People who believe in the power of collective creativity, intelligence, and collaboration to improve their communities, teams, and organizations.
  • Individuals and groups who are eager to build stronger teams and partnerships with each other and within their communities.
  • People who are dedicated to creating healthy and resilient organizations and communities.

You will walk away with the tools, frameworks and world-views that will enable you to navigate complex challenges and opportunities in your work, community and personal life.

These practices invite people to step in and respond to the challenges facing them in creative, authentic, innovative and effective ways.

We are seeking participatory consultation processes and engagement strategies that bring out the best in our communities and foster collaboration. That’s what the Art of Hosting is all about.
