Description
In this full-day, retreat-style workshop you will be introduced to the basic teachings and practices from the 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) training. We will explore the three key components of MSC, which are self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness of suffering. You will learn the many benefits of MSC, including reduced anxiety and depression, and enhanced resilience and well-being. You will have an opportunity to integrate what you learn by engaging in a creative activity in a mindful and contemplative way. We will use string and India ink to create evocative images, which will be the base for a mixed media exploration. All materials included & absolutely no art experience necessary. Leave with simple practices that strengthen mindfulness, self-acceptance and deepen compassion for yourself and others. Enjoy this nourishing day in the Highlands Nature House situated on the water’s edge in what has been called, “the gem of the Highlands,” a 67-acre protected forest dedicated to preserving ecosystems and biodiversity.
“The motivation of self-compassion arises from love, while the motivation of self-criticism arises from fear. Love is more powerful than fear.”
