Event description
Learning how to make delicious nut butters and other goodies using fermentation

About this Event

For millennia we have been fermenting grains and seeds to prepare them properly for digestion and maximum nutrition, sometimes for multiple days. Today raw seeds are consumed without a second thought for how they might be affecting our bodies. This workshop will cover the following:

- What are the benefits of soaking and fermenting our nuts, seeds and grains? What are the implications of not doing so? What nuts don't need to be soaked before being eaten?

- How to dehydrate or roast your nuts to get the perfect crunch! What can we add to turn them into delicious and nutritious nut butters using home kitchen equipment

- Some simple recipes for adding fermentation into your daily routine to make food more pro-biotic and gut friendly

- How to obtain your own fermentation starters, keep them alive and use them for future generations of ferments

Expect plenty of delicious tasters! Folks will take home a recipe sheet with them.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Concordia is located on unceded Kanien'kehá:ka traditional territory.
