Event description

Description

Even if you can only make the Saturday portion of this event, it's well worth attending.

During the weekend, one of Canada's top startup experts - Evan Hu - along with Craig Elias will show you how to nail your startup by applying the two most popular startup tools, Lean Startup Methodology and Business Model Canvas, to an actual startup.

By participating, you’ll learn how to:

  • Launch a more profitable startup
  • Get new products or services to market faster
  • Overcome the 'Innovators Bias' that kills many startups and product launches

Coffee and pastries will be served each morning, and a bagged lunch will be served on Saturday.

This is the kick-off weekend for the summer skills development program that is part of a province-wide initiative called 150 Startups.

During the summer skills development program some of Alberta's most promising first-time entrepreneurs, improve their business ideas, prepare for the regional pitch-offs, and the chance to be part of a provincial pitch-off, at this year's Innovation Rodeo.

For this event, you will be put on a team that works on a business idea created by one of the most promising first-time entrepreneurs from Alberta's 26 colleges and universities.
