--The Art of Watercolour: How to Paint Nature--

Follow along as visual artist and teacher Sylvia Russell shows you how to capture a beautiful Manitoba lake scene with watercolour paints.

Inspired by nature, Sylvia has spent more than 20 years painting Manitoba’s colourful landscapes from snow-covered forests to fields of wildflowers and lakes. In this free CPAWS Manitoba webinar, she will share tips and techniques for anyone hoping to learn to paint with watercolours.

You will not need supplies for this watercolour demonstration, but feel free to follow along with your own paints if you wish. Otherwise, sit back and allow yourself to enjoy the artistic process and get inspired by the colours of nature.

About the speaker:

Sylvia Russell, B.A., is a visual artist and teacher creating in her studio located in Winnipeg. Inspiration for her work comes from discovery through nature. Sylvia offers classes in watercolor, acrylic and mixed media painting. She has taught painting workshops for over 20 years through colleges, Canadian Mennonite University (Artist in Residence 2003) and art stores. Solo and group exhibits include University of Manitoba, Manitoba Society of Artists, Canadian Mennonite University, as well as Saskatchewan and Alberta art galleries. --Lunch and Learns--

Nature has been here for us during the pandemic.

CPAWS Manitoba wants to maintain this positive connection to nature by providing a space for Manitobans to connect online from the safety of our homes and be inspired by nature in our backyards and beyond.

Join CPAWS Manitoba for weekly lunch and learn presentations from experts across the province who will share their knowledge and passion and bring new nature-inspired activities into our lives.

*** This program is possible thanks to the generous support of The Winnipeg Foundation and the Conservation Trust, a Manitoba Climate and Green Plan Initiative delivered by the Manitoba Habitat Heritage Corporation. ***
